Today, I can say that something is new to me. Honestly, everyday, there's something new to us. Noticed by little, taking for granted by many. But whatever new to us, little or big, this define us, our thoughts, and the way we take life.
Though a lot will change, how we react to
those changes are the most important things to consider. It is not what
we are thinking, but what we are doing that will reflect most of us. If
things went wrong and not well-planned like how we thought them to be,
it is our immidiate intellect to handle unwelcomed circumstances that
will lead us to the success of our goals. Above all, our humble surrender to God, will the surest thing to our satisfaction.
In connection, I found this piece of Thomas Merton, in the first few
pages of Liam Callanan book, "All Saints". I just done reading the first
chapter of this book and it really caught my interests. How I wish,
I'll find a chance too to read the "A Road Ahead". The excerptions I
read is more than enough enticing.
My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this, you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it. Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.
"The Road Ahead", Thomas Merton
